We are about 200 miles out side of Chicago tonight. I can't even tell you what the name of the town is. Only that it is about 20 minutes in side the western edge of Illinois. We should be in the Whiting area by lunch time tomorrow.
Today's drive was a fun one. At at about 2 we stopped at a rest stop and realized we had a tire going flat on the trailer. Poor sweetie unpacked all his tools and the spare, got the bad tire off and could not get the spare on the stupid trailer. Apparently the trailer manufacture decided that using a standard lug pattern would just be silly. So they have their own unique one. Thankfully the tire was still holding air and we were only 6 mile away from the next town. Of course we were in the middle of Iowa, so who knew what that town would hold. We were very lucky though. It was practically a booming metropolis... well, for Iowa. The trailer store did not have the tires... but they pointed us in the direction of the House-Auto-Farm Store. They did not have the right tire, but they did have the auto shop so that they could put our spare tire on the old wheel. So we were back on the road, and it only took about 2 hours and $76. All in all not bad, considering this is the second cross country trip for those tires.
